Craig (235 pencils) | Tue, 2005-03-01 00:41Is there a way to be notified when new posts are made to the forum besides having to refresh the page (i.e. browser plugin)?

You can set your forum preferences to email you whenever a reply is made to a thread you posted in, but there's nothing (easily) available to notify you when ANY new post is made... other than the link list on the front page which shows the most recent posts.

One of the forums I used to frequent, (not so much anymore) had a little window (called Pulse) that would set on the side and had the last 10 or 15 updated threads, and it would auto-refresh. The forum is North American Motoring, and the Pulse can be seen in action by clicking the button under the header graphic on the far left. It's a pretty keen tool, and maybe something that could be implemented here sometime. :wink:
