Create a Flash Magazine from PDFs or JPGs
stukes21 (12 points) | Tue, 2008-05-20 15:50I am looking for a good piece of software, plugin, or how-to to create a page flipping version of our newsletters and other publications.
Does any one have any suggestions. I know I would rather not use a subscription service and don't mind having to work a little bit if it is a free option.

sometimes you can save some time by googling..

the last one I have used v2 before, and it worked out well for the project I had.. the whole thing is kinda over rated.. who really wantes to pretend to flip through a book??
Thanks for the links - even though the whole "flipping" thing is really lame and overdone.

Just for the record I did google, but I didn't see the free version of flash page flip. That is what I'm going to use. It seems to do the job just fine. I agree about the flipping pages of a virtual newsletter, but I do think there is an audience for it (just not me). I wanted to provide it along with a PDF option to give folks more of a choice.
Thanks again for the help
If you need a simple conversion and get folding pages, go to http://www.axmag.com/ or http://www.axpdf.com/pdf_to_flash/.
The aXmag provides an online conversion tool and you can upload PDF and convert to page flipping book.
Both the aXmag and AXPDF provides a desktop conversion.
Thanks for the info Sean.
generally, if i open a document and the page turns are animated. my first thought is to question the validity of the document as a whole...
So if the pages are animated your first thought is you're hallucinating? :-)
Flash is dead! Go Silverlight!

One reason that I do not prefer JPEG is because resolution easily get lost while using such image format. In my company, network speed is perfect so I decided not to use image format, but PDF to flash solution.
I'm now using http://www.pdf-to-flash-magazine.com/ and create my monthly magazines for company readers on PC and Mac OS.
However it is annoying that ipad and other Apple devices do not support flash files. I'm waiting for solutions on these devices.
I think this one can be useful, at least to me.
