Rapportive replaces Gmail ads with sender info

Rapportive is a free Gmail add-on that replaces the right sidebar that contains the ads by default with a column of information about the sender of the email. It pulls information from various public sources generating a quick and informative report about the person emailing you. It's extremely useful when you receive an email from an unknown person as you can quickly learn about him. And it's also beneficial with your friends and colleagues as it tells you their latest tweets, so you know what's happening to them, which gives context to their emails. You can also add notes to profiles that help you recall an acquaintance.

Little frighting to give away my personal information like that. It basicly wants access to everything, Gmail, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn.

I could be wrong but I don't think you have to sign-in to use it. Also, it's not more dangerous than any of the similar silly apps on Facebook. They pull the same data from your account.
I only use the Twitter app :)
