How to work better...
ronk (58 pencils) | Sat, 2007-12-08 13:53Hello creativebits people, I'm relativly new here. Having signed up a while ago, I've never had time to post, but have read some invaluable advice within these pages, and always enjoyed the, err, frank exchange of views shared between it's members (tracked by the widget).
Anyway, this one has been floating around for some time, make of this what you will, I know points 1,4 and 6 have helped me, maybe they can help you?:
1. Do one thing at a time
2. Know the problem
3. Learn to listen
4. Learn to ask questions
5. Distinguish sense from nonsense
6. Accept change as inevitable
7. Admit mistakes
8. Say it simple
9. Be calm
10. Smile
Cheers, Ronk

12. Do and redo until you're happy.
13. Keep studying, learning, and practicing.
14. Forgive thou not know...
...are we re-writing the bible?
I really think #'s 2-5 all really go together.... but really hinge on #3 & #4: Don't be afraid to ask lots of questions, but LISTEN to the answers.
#5 takes some more experience of doing all the others, but you sometimes have to learn what a client wants by eliminating things they don't want. (Especially for the clients who are really unsure of what they want to begin with!).
between projects take a break and refresh yourself to be on your game for the next.
This always helps me work better.
I'm going to take your advice RIGHT NOW :-) I usually forget -- and then wonder why I feel burned out.

I still forget to listen... worse yet, I forget to take notes. Great advice!
Where's the one that says "Cry, complain and whine if you don't get your way," and "Take EVERYTHING personally. It is, after all, all about YOU."
