This is the first draft of a friends cover art for his EP. He asked me for my thoughts on it, which I gladly gave. I wanted to get some opinions from some seasoned designers on here.
it just kinda dies there. maybe play around with scale and weight and make and give it some of the flavor of the cover instead of just plain old flush left. You also might wanna continue that red and black line, it kinda abruptly ends. It almost there, looks really nice, good work
The back needs an extra hour, I agree. I don't know if you guys noticed how the black and red is kinda overprints on the front. It's very subtle but cool for me.
This is one of the few pieces on here lately that looks genuinely professional. Everything looks very well thought out. I tend to agree with the black text on the back, it could use some livening up. I like the text flush left, it keeps it clean, which I think that is partly what this design is going for, kind of a juxtaposition of clean and messy.
Also, the heavy lines on the back don't bother me. If you do change them, I wouldn't carry them all the way across the back panel, because a straight line just cuts your "canvas" in half, which is usually not a good thing.
I agree with everyone, it looks great. Also, yes, the back does need some work, it seems quite bland and untouched compared to the cover. Also, what would this work look like if you used white instead of grey. If feels like the grey is making this piece dull. I'd love to see it with white, or perhaps another color that could give it more visual life.
it looks grunged and it has great impact.
it has also modern colors & theme.
great work!
definetly the text on the back needs more work, that italic style shouldnt belong there.
and its not required to have numbers and bullets at the same time for each track.
and yes, the overprint is demonically :)
I like it,
Only thing which to me is making my eye keep drifting to it is the amount of black text on the left/back. what if the track titles were in white?
I really like the design, looks great!
