Keynote Presentations
sykobihari (52 pencils) | Fri, 2005-03-25 20:52So I am presenting my Masters Thesis at a conference. I intend to use Keynote and have found a theme appropriate for the same. Now, I was looking around for sites that would suggest the handling of typography when making a presentation. Do you guys know of any such typographical take on do's and dont's of presentations? I was particulary wondering about font sizes of the Title and body, as well as the leading.
Given that presentation tools should be used minimalistically, I want to use it show alot of graphs and charts that visually illustrate my findings.Any suggestions???
Thanks

Generally you should use Sans sherif fonts for presentations. Use just one type for the whole presentation, unless there is a specific reason for more. Make the bodytext in high contrast against the background. The slide title should be bigger and bolder and less contrast to the background than the body text. Try to put little text into the body and make short but clear titles. Maybe show an example page you put together for specific suggestions.
Good luck with your work!
since we're on the same topic, what resolution is best for displaying keynote thru a projector? I'm not sure what my school uses but is there a general way? I noticed there is 800x600, then there is 1024x____. Is it better to use a higher one? The screen at my school is like 2 stories high.
of course the higher the better.
Is higher always better, Ivan? Or would it be better to set the presentation to the native resolution of the projector, to avoid the introduction of artifacts?
