Logo for me

*Updated Mark* Changed the colors

Hi everyone, I'm working on coming up for a logo I can put on my business cards and letterhead. It is a stylized P and D. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The mark might work. Doesn't do anything for me, perhaps because it looks more (to me) like an R plus something.

I note, though, that you seem to be trying to have the letters in the word "design" each fall exactly under the letters of "Palmer" above. No? Anyway, the kerning is inconsistent. Too much space around the "i"

I was trying to have the letters fall under my name and I noticed the i had too much space around it. I'll work on it and try to make it a little better. Any suggestions on the mark? Thanks for the advice!

I like it. It's cool. I would try with colors that are closer to each other.

These new colors doesn't look creative. They make your logo look like as if it was for a restaurant or home improvement or such. Too warm and comfy.

Would you recommend I stick with the original green color, just work them so theyre close colors? More cool vs warm colors?

I think the colors are good. Bring them closer and they will most likely clash in my opinion.

I like it. I personally like the the red on the 'd'. Maybe you can just stick with that color.

But I do think you should do something about the colours..
..Not make them the same, because I think it might then look like a background with shapes superimposed on it.

Whereas, different colours would keep the 'd' and 'p' separate - maybe one green and one blue ??

And sort out the lettering underneath - possible each work in a colour corresponding to its letter ??

But I do like the overall idea..
..Best of luck.

I like your design, it creates a nice play between positive and negative space. I never saw your original green color. I'd be interested to see the variations in color you came up with.

I like this so much better than the first logo you posted. I cn ee now why you did the thing of having each letter in "design" line up under the letters in "palmer," because this does look a little off. Some combination of thin and heavy fonts in the same typeface mught solve that problem, but I wonder how it might look to place the two "words" above and below the mark, or to the left and bottom, or some other combination?

The two shades of red don't quite make it for me, but perhaps I was influenced by other comments, starting with Ivan's. Honestly, my first reaction was "wow -- cool!" -- but maybe you could experiment with two compliments.

Hopefully this logo won't be confused with http://www.rajasandhu.com/ , at least if you make a small web bookmark icon.

I like the blue/green color combo. Only thing is the word "Design" seems to get lost (at least at the small size seen here). Maybe keep it in the blue also?

I really like the direction you're going with this mark but feel you're a bit locked into this one design.

In the new sample above it appears the blue "p" is now a bit thinner than the green "d". Setting the negative space to the same thickness as the letters is also a bit distracting. (keep seeing "F" or a stylized "H") I also find the current scale of the logo to type too overpowering.

Now is the time to experiment with alternatives of this mark. (fonts, scale, logo tweaks and colors)

Here's a quick modification.

Let's see 5-10 different variations.

good call, I'll work on some different versions after work today and then post them up here again. I have a tendency of getting locked into one particular thing. Helps to be reminded.
