Ivan | Tue, 2011-09-13 17:20In OS X Lion you can press and hold the Option key to resize the window from all sides at once. And use the Shift key to resize while preserving the aspect ratio of the window.

i was about to do a lion upgrade but heard that apple did away with "save as"
sorry. i live and die by save as...
At this time it is only applicable to certain Apple apps, not Adobe for example. Also, it's very easy to get used to the new way. Instead of Save as... you use the Duplicate command and it creates a new document with a small cute animation which you can Save under the new name. When you use it, it's actually more user friendly and logical than Save as... It just takes a few days to get used to.
"with a small cute animation " is more logical and user friendly than a keystroke?
fuck me. im just a UI designer. what do i know?
You got a point.
You can assign the very same keystroke to the duplicate menu. But you would still have to do two keystrokes instead of one. Unless you create an automate action that does duplicate and save in one keystroke and then you actually replicated the old behaviour with the same keystroke.
If you haven't tried it yet, 'Moom' on the app store is very useful.
When you hover over the maximise button it shows a little menu allowing you to snap finder windows to half height, left, right, top and bottom. I think it was only £2.99, but I use it every day.
living on dreams and custard creams.
Thanks! It's cool indeed.
how did you get OX Lion to show the bottom portion of the window... where it tells you "15 Items, 39.59 Gigs available"
I can't get it to show back up for the life of me. Am I missing an option somewhere?
In Finder: View / Show Status bar.
thanks Ivan. :-)
