Tagging files for Spotlight

Spotlight is great if you have a unique word to search for. But if you happen to search for a common word you will likely find hundreds of hits which makes searching less effective.

To find relevant files easier, you can manually tag your documents by adding a special character to the words you want to tag by. For example I use the "¡" which is easily accessible by pressing Alt-1, but you can use any other infrequent characters such as: "∞", "º" or "˘". This way when you search for "¡ripples" Spotlight won't show all the default desktop images, but the images related to your project.
