My Mac's clock is reset everytime i boot.

Hi,

This has been happening for the last month or so. Everytime i start up my machine, it gives a message that the clock on the system has been reset, before March 2001 and will act erratically. I then have to change the settings to the current time and date.

Is there something wrong, like do i have to replace a battery as in the PC's or is it a software problem

Kv

Update your system to the latest version available, if it doesn't solve it replace the battery.

Somebody suggested this, try it:

Pushing and holding the power button for 5-7 seconds to force shutdown does seem to work as a good work around for this problem, I have used the power button on both my computer and cinema display and either one works, and time remains set after normal startup.
