A real reason to upgrade to CS6...

Adobe's punchlines always make me laugh.

How nice of Adobe to warn us about an (alleged) security problem and offer a PAID upgrade rather than taking care of their customers who ALREADY paid by offering an (industry standard) FREE bug fix instead.
I'm glad more people are seeing the light on this company.
Fucking shameful.
believe or not, Adobe is still one of the most admired companies

Microsoft is on the list too, so that says everything you need to know.
Dear motorist,
We just found (13 years after the release) an issue which may cause the brakes to fail on your 1999 registered automobile which you paid full retail price for.
You have two options. 1. Drive the car cautiously or 2. Buy our new 2012 model at full retail price.
Please don't phone us to complain because even if you do get through to an operator, we do not care!
UNBELIEVABLE!!

Just as you've written there is no difference. There may be a severity of outcome (losing one or more lives) but the unethical business practices are the same.
I don't have CS6, but l assume that the latest version comes with a few more improvements than just the security fix.
The same url as above also mentioned ".....We are in the process of resolving these vulnerabilities in Adobe Photoshop CS5.x, and will update this Security Bulletin once the patch is available......"
What do you do??
UPDATE :
Adobe have said that they will issue a patch. It is hard to tell whether this was always on that cards, or is them bowing to pressure though. (The original linked doc now shows the update).
what does photoshop have to do with security?
this is like calling a plumber to fix your roof...
