Google Buzz
Ivan | Wed, 2010-02-10 14:28You can join the fun here: http://www.google.com/buzz
So far it looks interesting. As soon as you join you will the buzzes [cringe] of several friends. You can comment and the conversation begins.
It's great that you get notified in your inbox about new comments. As if we didn't receive enough emails already.
It badly needs two way communication between Twitter and FB. So far it can only pull messages from one Twitter account only.
What do you think about it?

I think too much "Google this Google that" makes the people tired.
Google Wave may be a fiasco as they wanted to be a big Hype... they don't...
The use of same login is the good on Google's apps.
Maybe they need a new identity xD
yes I'm brazilian xD
I think google buzz looks interesting. Like Ivan noted, the integration between twitter and facebook would be a plus. I don't think too much of google is a bad thing unless its not innovating, and I think the people will be the decider of that; we will either use it or not. For that reason, Google doesn't need a new identity, creating a new one would take millions to promote a new brand and we are already familiar and comfortable with Google.
All right, why a new brand, new ideas, new designers, new thinking brains etc xD let's use the same boring Google colors...
yes I'm brazilian xD
Google really is the new Microsoft, looks at what other companies are doing and then tries to kill them off. Seems to me that just want to position themselves to compete against Facebook.
The service looks just like Twitter and Facebook in my opinion, the last thing people need is another silly distraction.
hm...so brand saturation, if there ever was a termed for such a thing?
google designs HORRIBLE user interactions!
I am interested to see what's Google's next move.

I'm not Facebook fanboy and think Google will not make initially any big interference on Facebook database that is far bigger than any other social networks .
with Buzz inferface you can't post on Facebook or Twitter, that's the initial failure, there is no complete integration.
this seems as an improvement on Gmail and a reckon of Wave strategy failure for a while.
the Google over exposition strategy is a branding failure even it seems sucessful... you don't see Apple reference on Safari icon, there is not any bite or apple shape/colour because Steve is more discreet he is not pedantic (as Google)
the Facebook domination of social network is clear, and rumours says that they will launch a webmail service soon... obviously it affects Google's plan
that's why I think over exposition is not recommended on cases that we have a strong reference like pathetic Steve Ballmer's corporation xD
Facebook has freshness... we google so much all day long.

There are privacy implications with Buzz (businessinsider.com) which aren't too much of a problem as long as you are careful - worth reading over none the less.
Having now tried it, I'm becoming increasingly alarmed at how these services are able to know so much about me and process that information. Buzz recommended several people I've never emailed in my life that I either follow on blogs or on Flickr. When I gave Google permission to look at my Flickr account is beyond me ... actually no it's not I never gave Google permission to look at my Flickr account. It just assumed it was okay.
For the sake of being fare Facebook also recommends people that I have no idea how they get the right or data for. I emailed the developer of a WordPress plugin once to ask him a question, and he's now always recommended as a friend.
I can see Buzz doing quite well with people that use gmail a lot, I only use it for mailing lists and creating accounts on websites, so it's hard for me to imagine Buzz becoming a part of my life. Most of my correspondence is done outside of gmail.
Another worthless service like Google Wave. I wish they would just stick to Email and search and stop wasting peoples time with this trash.

Bing-mail does this and much more!

I am not Steve Ballmer pretending not to be me!
Hm...how about this article? http://online.wsj.com/article/BT-CO-20100212-715032.html?mod=dist_smartbrief
if you were google would you still not try and enter the social media world? If not, I think you would all be worthless CEOs. As a business owner/leader you must continue to adapt, ESPECIALLY in this technical and fast evolving world of the internet.
We have now been using Buzz for a few weeks now. Not extremely impressed...yet, as I am sure there will be many additions to it.
We use Google Wave to collab on Tampa Web Design projects. But we have not found a place for Google Buzz in our Social Media Marketing projects.
