Opera mocks the Google Chrome ad
Ivan | Fri, 2010-05-28 14:53First, watch the original Google Chrome ad if you haven't seen it yet.
And, here is Opera making fun of Google.
Oh, and the funny part is — Opera is doing it on Google's very own YouTube.

i dont really understand why anyone cares about browser speed anyway. more often than not, its the speed of the network that bogs things down. any browser in the last 10 years can display a web page as fast as you can read it anyway...
what are people doing? rendering photoshop files with their web browsers?
they nerds love benchmarks to make up the size of their dicks. xD
yes I'm brazilian xD
I suspect speed isn't really the message Opera is communicating here. In fact, the commercial parodies Google's efforts at making 'speed' the topic of the message. This is about mindshare, of which Opera has very little in the U.S.
Of the two, I won't forget about the dueling fish in the Opera ad. It's a non sequitur and it works. A little forced, but good stuff.

Hmm. Doesn't Opera comes off as a d**k with a good sense of humor here?
Now THAT was funny!
