what's the official cell phone icon?
donovan1 (48 points) | Mon, 2008-08-25 08:25maybe this is weird but it seems that there's no official icon for cell phone in the Official Signs & Icons collection.

now, how would you design for example a "no cell phones" sign? you could still design one on your own. there are a lot of those my-own-cell-phone-signs out there, but regretably in most cases they don't look very elegant.

I guess you can either do your own or use a mobile phone from a dingbat font like:

You can always pay for an ugly one

A whole website dedicated to no cell phone signs? That's a pretty specific market!

this is the nightmare of every graphic designer: someone makes money without much design.
well, there are cute cell phone icons in this world, but i'd be happy to find a internationally recognized cell phone icon, just like the pictograms from the Official Signs & Icons collection.
i wonder if the Official Signs & Icons will be extended one day, to be up to date with the new developments. not only for cell phones, but also for other wide-used stuff like ipod.

Do I have to repeat myself? Nice.

I have a little "No Mobile Phones" magnet from Tokyo that has this symbol on it. I think that's a good standard to use.
