Yet another change in Google's UI

I searched for some music on google. Everything ok. Then searched again and stumbled upon this new layout. It caught me by surprise, since its been just 2 months since the search giant last updated it's UI.

Does anyone else have it yet? If so, what do you think? I personally am not a big fan of the huge "Search and Results" bar below the search field. Opinions?

I still see the old one and I prefer the old one. Icons are needed, not sure why would they drop them...

The bar is an interesting addition - it would be interesting to understand the reasoning behind it.

The new spacing and removal of icons from the sidebar feels more clear - wonder if the icon removal was a speed/bandwidth issue or whether it just tested better with users?

Google is constantly doing random live test runs with their UI, it may go permanently live, it may not. Just depends, I personally like the new changes.
